HOW IT WORKS

A SaaS company that delivers customized, relevant content based on users input through a web app.

CHALLENGES

Upon joining Navitome, the app lacked any attention to detail. The colors were so saturated it was overwhelming to look at. It became evident that starting from scratch was necessary in order to create an app that would meet market standards and user expectations.

Atlassian

Product Designer Collaborating with 3 co-founders, 2 project managers and 10 developers.

Timeframe: 2 years

HOW IT WORKS

Hipchat allowed you to have messaging internally at your workplace. It allowed you to set up rooms so you could have focused conversions around projects or teams.

CHALLENGES

Changing the way companies communicate. Seems simple, right? This was my first introduction to a true tech start-up making a name for themselves. My life at this time was changing. I had recently moved to Boston and about to have my first child. I also got offered this job and phased out my freelance business that I ran for 10 years. I had gotten a bit burnt out on the business side of things and my job at HipChat allowed me to reset and fall in love with design again.

Having millions of people use your work is a huge challenge and also very exciting.

Overview

I didn’t have the work needed to get the jobs I wanted to out of college. I started working at night on side work and that turned into a full-time business where I worked on over 200 projects ranging from small start-ups to Magic Johnson.

CHALLENGES

As a freelance designer, I embraced the need to wear multiple hats in order to succeed. I acquired various skills, including sales, proposal writing, resilience in the face of rejection, collaboration with diverse individuals, front-end development, self-motivation, and efficient multitasking. Juggling numerous projects simultaneously became second nature, allowing me to thrive in the dynamic world of freelance design.

I have more examples if you would like to see them.

Thank you for taking the time to look at my work.

I’d be happy to answer any questions you may have or if you want to see more.
